Due to its unique historical treasures Nessebar was inscribed in the World cultural heritage under the aegis of UNESCO in 1983.

United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization includes 188 member states. Its main purpose has been to contribute to the world peace and safety by means of collaboration among the nations in the field of education, science, culture and communications. This leads to consideration of world justice, lawfulness, human rights and basic freedom no matter of race, sex, language or religion.

The organization executes five main functions:

Perspective sciences – what forms of education, science, culture and communications will the future world need?

Progress, transfer and exchange of knowledge – here the accent is on research and educational activities.

Guiding principle- preparation and acceptance of international documents and established legal recommendations.

Experts’ reports – they are provided to the member states in order to develop their policies and projects under the form of “technical collaboration”.
